Following my education I apprenticed for a small residential/ light commercial shop for the next 4 years learning on the job and going to night school for my code classes that are required to test for my plumbing license upon completion of my apprenticeship. During this time, I installed water piping, drain, waste and vent systems, gas piping, plumbing appliances and fixtures in new homes and replaced in existing homes. I also installed plumbing in small restaurants and Dunkin' Donuts coffee shops.
After 5 years of residential/light commercial experience I wanted to pursue large commercial/industrial plumbing work to round out my plumbing experience, I had a mutual agreement with my employer that it was time to move on, and he always said I was welcome back to work for him if I ever decided to come back to residential. So I went on to work for one of the largest Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors in New Hampshire in which I installed plumbing pipe and fixtures in the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH The V.W.A is home to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and the Manchester Wolves arena football team as well as many other events such as College Hockey and Concerts and other performances.
In July of 2001 I was recruited by Plumbers and Gasfitters Local #12 in Boston, MA I continued my education through the journeyman education program where I obtained my Master Plumbers License in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I received OSHA 10 HOUR AND 30 HO UR TRAINING and 32 hour medical gas installation and brazing certification.
During the past six years I have worked on many large projects including 3 Hospitals, Fiberglass storm drains on I-93 North and South ramps in Charlestown north of the Zakim/Bunker Hill Bridge as well as ductile iron grooved pipe for the dry standpipe system. During the past 10 years I would also do many small jobs on my own mostly called side jobs or moonlighting. This is what many plumbers do during their careers.
And now I am at a point in my life where I decided to go out on my own and have my very own plumbing and heating business, something that people have been telling me to do for years, I just don't think they realized how difficult it is. I insist on being a small shop to keep it more service oriented. I want to build a customer base that knows I am reliable and take pride in my work. I will try and respond to every call. When you call me, you will be dealing with me. I will try and schedule the jobs at your convenience. The common complaint I hear is " I can't ever find a plumber" or " I called a plumber on Tuesday to replace my toilet and he said he can't get anybody out there until next week maybe Friday the earliest" If you call me Monday morning and I am all booked out, I will try and work with you to get it done by the end of the day or first thing the next morning. I am a one man shop, however as soon as the work load increases I will try my best to hire a licensed professional who has the same philosophy about the plumbing and heating industry.
